Sea Sculptures

As we are learning about the ocean for our inquiry unit; The Big Blue, we made sea sculptures on Friday!

First we had to make the dough, we used baking soda, corn flour and water.

We mixed them together and then heated the mixture in the microwave.

When the mixture looked like mashed potatoes we took it out and Mrs Stretch kneaded the dough for us.

After that we were given a piece of dough to mold into the shape of a sea creature of our choice. We all chose different sea creatures.

Once we had finished molding our creatures, Mrs Stretch helped us to finish them off and to add texture using a fork.

We then had to leave our sculptures to dry. We are looking forward to seeing our finished product next term.
